Personal Health Assessments

Preventive care is the most important step you can take to manage your health. Many of the top risk factors leading to illness and premature death are preventable and it is easier to make healthy lifestyle decisions when you have the information.

As a Bankmed member you have access to wellness benefits that include cover for services related to preventative tests and health assessments. This means that conditions such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol can be detected early and managed before serious intervention such as surgery or intensive medical care is needed.

How is the assessment paid for?

Bankmed Personal Health Assessments are paid for from the insured pool of funds of your benefit Plan. This does not affect your day-to-day benefits or your Medical Savings Account (should you be on the Core Saver, Comprehensive or Plus Plans) It does also not affect your consultation limits (should you be on the Essential, Traditional or Basic Plans).

Where can I have my Personal Health Assessment done?

Bankmed benefits provide for one Personal Health Assessment per beneficiary, per annum, for members over the age of 18. You can have your Personal Health Assessment done at a Bankmed Wellness Experience.

The Wellness experience is a great opportunity for you to become more familiar with your health, identify any underlying health issues and have your questions answered by the Bankmed Wellness Specialist Team.

You may not be able to control every medical condition but following preventive care guidelines may lessen your chances of serious disease. Fewer trips to the doctor, or the emergency room to treat problems associated with preventable risk factors add up to a higher quality of life and more money in your pocket.
