Make the most suitable Plan choice for 2019

The rush towards the end of the year has started. We still want to accomplish so many things this year, but it is also important to start planning for next year so we can hit the ground running in 2019. One of the most important areas to plan for is your medical aid arrangements for 2019.

Remember, every year you must review whether your current Plan type is going to continue to meet your family’s medical needs or planned medical expenses for the next year.

Things to consider when choosing a Plan for 2019

  • Your family’s health needs. Evaluate the history and status of your health and the health of your family members. This will help you choose a Plan that will give sufficient cover for your medical needs. Study the benefits and decide how likely you are to use them. Then compare the various Plans that Bankmed offers.
  • Affordability. Work out what you can afford to pay every month towards medical aid in 2019. Bankmed offers members on specific Plans, a Medical Savings Account. This can be very handy for those day-to-day expenses, like medicine and consultations.
  • Choice of medical providers. When choosing your Plan for 2019, consider how comfortable you are being restricted to a specific hospital network or service provider.
  • Cover for chronic illness. Bankmed offers cover for chronic medicine, but it is vital to make sure you choose a Plan specific to this.
