Three convenient ways to submit claims digitally
Your convenience is our aim; we are making sure of that! Like banking, Bankmed is evolving to keep up with the times. Whether you’re more comfortable with the ‘old school’ mailing of your claims or by using electronic means – we’re happy to receive both. However, the benefit of digital claims submission is that claims reach us much faster than by hand or post. We are also able to process electronic claims within 48 hours of receipt. The processed claim will reflect on your next e-mail Claim Notification.
- Download the Bankmed App
Your smartphone goes wherever you go, and so does your ability to submit claims. The Bankmed App is a free app for Android, Apple and BlackBerry smartphones and tablets.
To submit a claim by using the Bankmed App:
- Download the App.
- Log onto the Bankmed App using the same username and password you use to access the Bankmed website.
- Select Claims.
- Touch the + icon on the bottom right of the screen (or top right on iOS). This will open the Submit a claim screen, which provides you the option to submit a claim by:
- Taking a photo of your claim using your smartphone’s camera, or
- Scanning the QR code (a two-dimensional block code) should the invoice from your Healthcare Professional has one.
Kindly ensure that the claim is clearly photographed and that all information on the claim reflects. We cannot process a claim where information may have been “cut-off” in the photo.
1. Upload your claim on the website
You may submit a scanned version of your claim using our website:
- Log onto www.bankmed.co.za.
- Under Claims, click on Submit a claim.
- Scroll down to UPLOAD and click on Upload now.
- Select the electronic version of your claims and click on Send Claim.
2. E-mail us
You may also submit your claim by scanning it and e-mailing it to claims@bankmed.co.za. Again, please ensure that the claim is clearly scanned and that all information on the claim reflects. We cannot process a claim where information may have been “cut-off” during the scanning process.
