Be Scriptwise and have your chronic medication delivered

If you’re registered on the Chronic Illness Benefit, you can get your chronic medication delivered to you by Scriptwise and avoid standing in queues at a pharmacy.

Scriptwise is a perk of the Chronic Illness Benefit

You must be registered on the Chronic Illness Benefit to have Scriptwise deliver your chronic medication. To register, you and your treating Healthcare Professional must either use HealthID (an app for network Healthcare Professionals) or complete an application form and send it to us if you are on the Essential or Basic Plan. The forms are available on the Bankmed website under FIND A DOCUMENT / Application Forms, or you can call us on 0800 BANKMED (0800 226 5633). If you are on the Core Saver, Traditional, Comprehensive and Plus Plan, your Healthcare Professional can call 0800 132 345 or 0800 BANKMED (0800 226 5633) to obtain authorisation for your chronic medication.

Getting your chronic medication from Scriptwise

Arranging to receive your chronic medication through Scriptwise is easy. You can either e-mail them at bankmed@scriptwise.co.za or call them on 018 788 5814.

Documents to send Scriptwise:

You have to send them a copy of your prescription and a copy of your Bankmed membership card.

Information Scriptwise needs:

Scriptwise needs the following information to process your request:

  • Your membership number and the patient’s dependant code
  • The patient’s full name and surname
  • The Principal Member’s ID number
  • If the patient is not the Principal Member, their ID number or date of birth
  • Delivery address
  • Your contact number
How it works

Scriptwise will contact you when they receive your prescription and then contact us to confirm that you’re registered on the Chronic Illness Benefit. Before they deliver your medication, you will receive an SMS to confirm the delivery address and delivery date. Scriptwise contacts you each month to confirm the delivery date and address details.
