Some of the Bankmed App’s features

• Digital confirmation of membership: You always have proof of membership with you when you download the Bankmed App. When you log in, you have a digital membership card that confirms important membership information for Healthcare Professionals. This is invaluable in a medical emergency when you might not have your physical membership card with you.
• Claims made easy: You can submit your healthcare claims at any time by using the Bankmed App and your smart device’s camera. You can also view all the claims Bankmed has received for you and check how we paid your claims.
• Give Healthcare Professionals access to your medical history: Your Electronic Health Record contains information such as your blood test results, previous treatment, and diagnoses. You can use the Bankmed App to give Healthcare Professionals access so they can offer you the most appropriate advice and care.
• Look for a Healthcare Professional: The Bankmed App allows you to search for Healthcare Professionals such as hospitals, pharmacies and GPs close to you. It also shows you if the Healthcare Professional is part of the Bankmed Network or not.
• Important documents: You can request an electronic copy of your tax certificate, proof of membership and view other important documents using the Bankmed App.

Smart device requirements

To use the Bankmed App, you need to have a smart device, be a Bankmed member, and must have registered on the Bankmed website. You use the same username and password to log in to the Bankmed App which you use to log in to the website.

You do not have to pay to download the Bankmed App. However, unless you are connected to Wi-Fi, you have to pay for the data you use to download and use the application.

Your smart device has to meet the following requirements for you to use the Bankmed App:

• For Apple devices: The App will work on an iPhone or an iPad with iOS version 8.0 or later. The display may not work properly on an iPad.
• For Android devices: Your Android device needs to have Android version 2.3 or later. Android devices include popular makes such as HTC, Samsung, LG, Sony, and Huawei. The App has been optimised for both smartphones and tablets.
